Born from a love of thoughtful food, beautiful cakes and the small rituals that make ordinary days feel special, The Paper Daisy is a place for coffee on the way to work, a quiet moment in the middle of the day, a slice of something sweet with someone you love, or a custom cake made to mark a memory worth keeping.

That is what we hope The Paper Daisy becomes: a place where people feel welcome, where celebrations are made with care, and where simple daily rituals — a morning coffee, a handmade cake, a shared treat — become something a little more meaningful.

Cake. Coffee. Deli.
Made with care, served with warmth, and created to be remembered.

Marianne

The Paper Daisy was created by Marianne — a lifelong food lover, cake maker and former banking professional with a deep love for the little moments that make people feel seen.

After years in the corporate world, Marianne followed her creativity into cake making, spending more than six years creating celebration cakes for the people and milestones that matter most. Over time, that love of cake, coffee, food and community grew into the dream for The Paper Daisy.

More than just a café, The Paper Daisy is Marianne’s way of creating something gentle and welcoming for the local community — a place for soft mornings, sweet things, thoughtful details and everyday magic.

Every part of the space has been created with care, from the cakes and coffee to the little touches that make someone pause and smile.

Why The Paper Daisy?

The name The Paper Daisy comes from a story Marianne has carried with her for many years.

On a family holiday in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea, Marianne’s family was travelling by bus along bush roads back to the airport when local children began running after the bus, smiling and waving. As Marianne and her family waved back, the children threw paper daisies through the open windows.

It was a simple, unexpected act of kindness — but one that became a core memory. The flowers dried beautifully and were kept in the family home for years, a preserved reminder of joy, warmth and the kind of moments that stay with you.

Years later, paper daisies returned during another meaningful chapter. During a high-risk pregnancy and a season that required enormous resilience, native paper daisy seed packets were chosen as favours for Marianne’s baby shower — a quiet symbol of hope, and of planting something beautiful even in uncertain ground.

When Marianne’s daughter turned one, paper daisies appeared again, this time in bunches of locally grown flowers used to decorate the celebration. After a fragile first year, it was the first time many loved ones were able to gather with her and see how beautifully she had grown — making the flowers once again a symbol of resilience, beauty and happy memories worth preserving.

Paper daisies are known for lasting. They hold their colour and shape long after they are picked, which is why they have come to represent everlasting love, resilience and memories worth keeping.

That is the heart of The Paper Daisy: thoughtful food, beautiful cakes and everyday moments made with care — the kind of small details that stay with you.
